TIME AT FACILITY POLICY:

At Skydive Galveston, we don’t overbook! Your appointment time is the start of the process, not your jump time. Do not arrive early or late; show up at your scheduled time. Our goal is to have you in and out within an hour of your appointment time. Our appointment calendar times are based on Central Standard Time. Appointments made less than 24 hours in advance are subject to change and availability!

You may also be asked to reschedule, a rain check will be issued, and you may reschedule at your own convenience. Aircraft boarding order decisions are not based on appointment times and are made for logistical purposes only. Please keep in mind all these decisions are made with your safety as our main concern.

HEIGHT AND WEIGHT POLICY:

Tandem Students should be height/weight proportionate, Students 200 - 249lbs may be assessed a fee and for Students weighing 250lbs and above please call for availability. Call For Exact Details. All participants will be subject to on-site evaluation based on height weight proportion (Tall Enough To Match Your Weight). You should be able to kneel, bend, stoop, and have a full range of motion in your extremities. You will be asked to sign a medical fitness statement. Please disclose serious medical conditions to us beforehand! We have had to turn away people who forgot to mention their medical conditions until the day of the jump. We do not refund. If you do have a condition but your physician is willing to clear you, just bring your doctor’s note along with his/her medical credential (name/practice/medical license number). Depending on your condition we still reserve the right to turn you away if we believe it represents an unacceptable additional risk to yourself or our instructors. So again, make sure to disclose your condition to us beforehand!

However, if you are not able to lift your legs, or are hungover or otherwise intoxicated/impaired you could be putting OUR lives in jeopardy in addition to your own – and we always put safety first.

Weight Fees (HEIGHT WEIGHT PROPORTIONATE ONSITE EVALUATIONS MAY BE REQUIRED):

200lbs - 249lbs may add a fee

250LBS and up please call before you book (409) 256-9613

"RAIN CHECK" POLICY:

Skydiving is governed by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and is required to follow VFR (Visual Flight Rules) at all times. Under no circumstances will we break these guidelines, as safety is always our number one concern. Unsafe conditions may include but are not limited to, high winds, rain, and cloud coverage.

The decision to reschedule a jump due to poor conditions is usually made on the day of your reservation since the weather is unpredictable. We try to make the best decision possible, with the latest information available. EVEN WITH ALL THE EFFORT INVOLVED IN THIS PROCESS, YOU MAY DRIVE ALL THE WAY HERE, AND STILL ENCOUNTER BAD WEATHER AND BE UNABLE TO JUMP. Please provide a valid cell phone number with your reservation. If we need to reschedule, you may receive a text or call the morning of your jump. If you don’t hear from us we are planning to jump. In the event your jump is canceled due to weather, you will need to reschedule for the next available date within your voucher/ticket/deposit expiration. Refunds will not be issued because of inclement weather.

Airplanes can and do break down. In the event of unscheduled aircraft maintenance, you will need to reschedule at the next available date within your voucher/ticket/deposit expiration. Refunds will not be issued because of unscheduled aircraft maintenance.

VIDEO AND PICTURES POLICY:

All video and picture images remain the property of the Skydive Galveston. Your likeness captured through video or images may be shared across social media platforms. Extra service fees apply for the removal of any video or image from any social media platform.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AND HOW DO I PREPARE?:

Dress for the weather. Tennis shoes and sneakers, no boots. Bring a change of clothes after heavy rain as the ground can be quite wet.

Summer: Comfortable clothes NO DRESSES.

Spring/fall: Comfortable clothes NO DRESSES.

What about Winter?: Lots of layers, loose-fitting clothes, Under Armor if you have it, ski masks, face masks, and gloves. Winters are mostly very mild on Galveston Island! We jump year-round!

How should I prepare: Eat lightly before your jump, fresh fruit to snack on is recommended. An empty stomach is just as bad as a full stomach. Do not drink alcohol heavily the night before your jump.

Do not use alcohol or other intoxicants 12 hours prior to your jump. You will forfeit your deposit, gift certificate, or prepaid voucher!

WHAT TRAINING DO I NEED?:

You'll be provided with about 30 minutes of instruction prior to your skydive. One of the reasons that tandem skydiving is such a popular form of first-time skydiving is that your instructor will be controlling most of the jump from exit to opening to landing. You will receive introductory skydiving training in aircraft exit, body position, and equipment familiarization.

WHAT KIND OF PLANE ARE WE JUMPING FROM?:

The Skydive Galveston operates a reliable 4-passenger Cessna 182.

CAN I WEAR GLASSES? WILL I HAVE TO WEAR GOGGLES?:

We provide various options for googles or you may provide your own. If you provide your own, just remember we are falling at 120 miles an hour, and the wind is coming from below, up your face, not at you like on a motorcycle. Goggles must be low profile and tight and secure to your face. We are not responsible for loss or damage to your eyewear.

CAN I BRING MY OWN CAMERA?:

NO! There are safety issues involved with this. Because this is your first time skydiving, it is very important that you are not distracted by a camera. We require our experienced jumpers to have 200 jumps before they are allowed to take a camera with them, even small cameras such as the GoPro. Additionally, cameras must be properly mounted so they do not get dropped causing property damage or injury.

Our tandem instructors and videographers have had extensive training on how to correctly operate a camera in the air.
