Frequently asked information about skydiving by Galveston & Houston Texas clients.
Short answer no. But before you feel this may be just a money grab by us for the footage, let us explain a little more.
The United States Parachute Association requires that you be a C licence skydiver with a minimum of 200 jumps to carry a camera on a skydive.
The reasons are numerous, and it all comes down to safety. Skydiving when you first start is a massively overwhelming experience. Tandem Skydiving itself is not a rollercoaster ride. You are a direct participant, you are classed as a student skydiver and have certain duties to perform which we train you in. It is hard enough for you to remember to perform those duties as it is with the brain overload from the experience, without introducing divided concentration on where the camera is and do I look good in this selfie.
If you were to put the camera in the wrong place at any point during during the skydive, you could be risking your life and the life of the instructor. As a student skydiver you do not have the experience of where those places are and it isn’t something that can be taught in a few weeks let alone the short time we have to train you. Our tandem instructors have thousands of jumps and specific camera training to ensure that the camera does not end up in any of those places in addition to ensuring they capture the best footage for you.
You can get both. Check out the prices section for details.
Please do! We have contests for both staff and customers for these little bits of gratitude. Visit our FaceBook page for details.
No you do not. However it is recommended. It gives you a full understanding of what you are about to sign up for!

Currently 5 people go in the plane. 2 guests, 2 instructors and the pilot.
Most of the time we will be able to accommodate special needs tandem students, but every case will be assessed individually.
The weight limit is 220 pounds. There is a surcharge for 220-230 pounds of $20 and 230-240 of $50. Anything beyond that is at the discretion of the instructor. Give us a call before you book.
